Over the weekend, stars gathered (in their race day best!) to attend the running of the 147th Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore hosted by 1/ST, where thoroughbred Early Voting took the middle jewel of the Triple Crown.
Guests placed their bets and sipped the Preakness Stake’s signature cocktail, the Black-Eyed Susan. Race-goers also got to see special performances by Megan Thee Stallion, Lauryn Hill, and DJ sets from Marshmello and The Chainsmokers. Katharine McPhee kicked things off with the National Anthem.
Megan Thee Stallion wore an all-blue ensemble for her performance, even matching her nails to her microphone.
Among the A-list attendees included actress Lupita Nyong’o, who rocked a bright pink two-piece blazer and shorts set, paired with a perfect pill box hat with veil (because no race track look is complete without one).
Singer Cassie, and TV personalities Gayle King and Carson Kressley were also there to take in the race.
King dazzled in a vibrant yellow tank dress, before switching into a shorter version of the dress later during the event.
Baltimore athletes including Washington commanders’ Jonathan Allen, Cole Holcomb, Daniel Wise, Tress Way and Carson Wentz arrived in dapper suits of pastel colors to support their fellow athletes (jockeys and the horses) on the track.
During the day guests were treated to tasty food by celebrity chefs Tom Colicchio, Marcus Samuelsson and Gail Simmons, as well as Baltimore favorites, curated Restaurant Row, including Crust by Mack, Fishnet and Brookside Market to name a few.
There was also a Davidoff Cigars’ “Cut & Light” station, a PATRÓN Tequila stationary bike blender where guests can get in a spin, and a Coors Light classic Silver Bullet airstream to experience throughout race day.
This year’s Preakness Stakes festivities were designed to provide a fresh, post-pandemic experience for attendees, and it certainly delivered.
