Following the exceptional debut of the Preakness Future Wager in 2023, we are excited to announce an expansion of our offerings this year, by introducing two Preakness future wager pools. The MJC is once again offering advance wagering on the 149th Preakness Stakes (G1), Middle Jewel of the Triple Crown, to be run May 18 at historic Pimlico Race Course. Preakness Stakes Future Pool 1 will get underway at Noon (ET) Thursday, February 29 and close at 8pm (ET) on Saturday, March 2. Preakness Future Wager – Pool 2 is set to open on Friday, April 26 at 12:00pm, and to close on Saturday, May 4, at 6:00pm

There is a $2 minimum in the Preakness Future Win Wager, with an 18 percent takeout.

Horse Racing Nation compiled a list of 39 individual horses for the Preakness Future Wager and also set the Morning Line odds. A 40th field entry of “all other 3-year-olds” opens as second choice in the wager at odds of 6-1.

The Preakness Future Wager was unanimously approved by the Maryland Racing Commission. Similar to that of future wagers for the Kentucky Derby, bettors are not refunded if their selection does not run in the Preakness, which is limited to a maximum of 14 starters.
